90's fashion back for 2010.

I bring you the 7 big hits that will be making a comeback this summer 2010, dont say i did'nt warn you!
Kitten heels,
After several seasons of platforms killing our feet the kitten heels out making a come back, the heel that is beloved of politician's wives has returned.Yes it isnt the most flattering shape but the kitten heel has been given a make over, as seen at Missoni with hippy ribbons and straps meanwhile Marc Jacobs added feathers for his version of the kitten heels. Im not a big lover off kitten heels, as i just dont like any heels full stop, there the worst invenstion made, they look good but can i walk in them? No! But do think with the right outfit kitten heels could be hot this summer!
Cycling shorts,
Yes, i was shocked too. It's partly the new sporty vibe. Set to be next summer's answer to leggings, the lycra knee-length short seen on the most unlikely catwalks, from the short disco versions that were flashing out from Armani's cocktail dresses to baggier versions at Marni worn loose over stripy leggings, as with leggings, they're not meant to be worn alone. When you see how short and sheer everything is for next summer you'll be begging for a pair. I think this is a trend i deffinately will be following, i think this could reallly be a good look for summer, so get ready to whap the legs out girls!
Safety pins,
Back in 1994 Elizabeth Hurley wore a black Versace dress seemingly held together by gold safety pins and created alot of attention for herself. Fast-forward 15 years, and there you have it the return of the safety pins. The Versace diffusion line now headed up by Scottish super-designer Christopher Kane (fashion god) has gone safety-pin crazy. Oversized, colourful pins bags and shoes while others, fastened across sexy cut-outs on dresses or used on jackets. Now im stuck on the idea of this, because i've seen the Elizabeth hurley safety pin dress and im not a big lover, there was nothing left to the imagination and it looked very cheap and tacky looking, so this could easily turn any outfit into a disaster! But then again, safety pins on the collar of a biker jacket, or on a old bag could easily could transform it from drab to fab, i think this will be on i experiment with!
Bum bags,
Yes, you heard me right bum-bags they strike fear into my heart too. But at Marc Jacobs, models walked down the catwalk wearing bum bags matched to their skirts and shorts. Worn slung low around the hips. Over at Louis Vuitton, also designed by Jacobs, the bum bag complete with tassels and extra pouches or with a fur tail were oversized very different to the original bum bags. Bum bags are deffinately a style i will be leaving in the past, r.i.p bum bags they should be gone and forgotten!
Neon,
From tie-dyed dresses to eye-popping fluoro bangles, neon was the alternative to the pretty pastels. Balenciaga's bright orange, green or yellow leather biker leggings really popped, it's very nu'rave! Neon colours really arent my thing, i dont like the tacky neon tops from primark you get, personally i think neon should be kept for the jewerally, i love neon lightening bolt necklaces ect but clothes, i just think you shouldnt draw attention to yourself in them!
Layers,
With next season's sheer, floaty fabrics, we're being encouraged to layer up. Put a long-sleeved T-shirt under a summer dress and add tights and boots and thats the biggest look this summer! I carnt wait to try this look out, very rock chick!
The rave whistle
These are set to make a comeback, who'd have thought it referees setting the latest trends? Not me thats for sure! But yes you heard me right rave whistles are set to make a very loud comeback! The very thought of walking round town to some little 13 year olds blowing there whistle 24/7 scares me, but maybe they could be the latest thing to carry around? Who knows, i just know i will not be starting this trend! Now go on blow your whistle!

Choclate catwalk.

Now this is my kind of catwalk, choclate choclate choclate! Yes you heard right the geniuses in paris decided to hold a choclate catwalk, and oh no no no your wrong in thinking that there were just chocolate buttons, oh no there was hats, jackets and even crinoline skirts! This really is something you could get your teeth into! The model pictured to the right of the text is Laetitia Rey, who wore a chocolate-studded ensemble by lingerie designer Eva Racheline and chocolate manufacturer Magnum, she looked a treat that had been unwrapped for the occasion thanks to the added touch of the silver foil. In a corset, suspenders and crinoline skirt, a chocolate disc balanced atop her head completed the look, if you look closely enough you can see that her suspenders are made out of magnum ice cream sticks, very unique indeed! Obviously not all the clothes were made out of choclate as that would have been very sickly! And if theres any left over choclate thats going spare then i'll be happy to take it off there hands, preferably dairy milk choclate, not dark! Thanks.

Vogue.

The almighty fashion bible vogue, its a huge hit all over the world, everyone loves it and everybody reads it but the pictures right featured in this months French Vogue have caused a big stir as it has been accused of being racist. Model Lara stone posed for a number of photos in which she was covered in white and brown body paint for a number of pose's this has caused a huge controvisy and the pictures have been marked 'tactless'! Personally i believe she shouldnt have been covered in the paint full stop! They should be showing that you can feel comfortable in your own skin and be glad of who you are not that you need to change! And to be honest the pictures featured top of the page are doing nothing for her. Lara stone is a really naturally beautiful women and i just dont think these pictures capture that! And plus i bet it took ages to get all that paint off!

Tights.

Imagine this, your out with your girls at this new bar when this gorgeous man keeps looking over giving you the look all your girls are commenting on how gorgeous he is so you smile back no harm in friendly flirting ay, then all off a sudden he walks over he has the body to match that gorgeous face you carnt believe your luck but when you look down you see he's wearing tights what do you do? Pretend you were smiling at someone else? Pretend your foriegn? Or just do nothing its only man tights? Well that could well happen in the future. The next big thing to hit the high street is mans tights! But oh no this latest style isnt cheap as just one pair of 120 denier tights costs a whooping £70! So men in tights, is it a do or is it a dont? Personally for me its a deffinate no no, i mean yes let your man wear them if your married to superman or batman but other then that ladies keep the lock on your stockings draw! These 'pantyhose' for men are apparently the latest craze in Germany, they even do them in different designs they do floral pantyhose and a tribal tattoo pantyhose oh no your wrong in thinking it stops there, they also do army print pantyhose but he will not camoflauge into the style with these on! Then theres just a plain black and white style. I think this idea is absolutely ridiculous, what man would ever want to wear tights? I mean we've all seen the bingo advert where Vic reeves dresses as a women and for all those of you that hasnt seen it its the picture at the side, could you really take your man seriously looking like that? If we let our men wear tights then whats next, our skirts? Dresses? We'll have to start putting locks on our wardrobes! If after reading all this you still are not weirded out by the thought of your man wearing tights then there something really wrong with you but heres some handy tips for him on how to actually put them on..

What is this world coming too, men in tights! Its not something i will be looking for in a guy!

London fashion week.

This week we saw all the celebs fleeing to London to see this years autumn winter collection, the likes of Kate Moss, Agyness Deyn and Emma Watson all took to there seats to see the models flaunting the designs. The biggest shock to me about London fashion week was where has Agness's tradmark bleach blonde locks gone? She seemed to be going 'back to black' she deffinately showed that black is the new black. She teamed her new black hair with a black blazor and black leather shirt with black hotpants but it wouldnt be complete without something completely unique only Agness can pull of and yet again she has! She teamed the all black outfit with some very different tights, with the house of Holland motif on, there not everybodys cup of tea but personally i think Agness pulls them off very well!

Emma Watson, the new face of Burberry didnt come top of my best dressed list, personally her dress seemed like the wrappers of Quality street toffees all screwed up, she teamed the wrapper dress with a leather belt and matching leather shoes, they were a nice combination just not with 'the dress' she then teamed this outfit with a nude leather bag which would of looked nice with a completely different outfit. Emma Watson normallly looks gorgeous but at London she let herself down. Quality street wrappers should be left in the bin or on the sweets next time Emma!

Raf simons better known for his Dr Martens collection also wow'ed the crowd with his latest fashion for our feet walking down the catwalk. Raf Simons has created a very different approach to sandles combined with the classic Dr Marten boots. Particulary im not quite sold on the colaboration, there deffinately the most eye grabbing in the Raf Simons for Dr Marten collection.

The biggest story to come out of London fashion week has to be Mark Fast using plus size models on the cat walk, the daring knitwear designer decided to put US size 8-10 on the catwalk. This caused meltdown with both his stylist and his creative director walking out just three days before the show, but thankfully he found 2 women to replace them and save the day! Fast has now created and photographic exhibition entitled "all walks beyond the catwalk" which features models aged 18-65 in garments that are sizes 8-16. i personally believe this is a fantastic idea and that plus size models should be used not just in Mark fast's designs. Its showing girls that you dont have to be thin to be beautiful, and these models deffinately proved that as they were all gorgeous! Its giving teenage girls more hope and showing them that all theses size 0 celebs, yes they might be gorgeous but bigger girls are just as beautiful and im glad that Mark is giving girls the oppertunity to show that because every page you open up in a magazine there are celebs with petite frames and yes im sure noone would say no to having Cherly coles body but until they invent a diet where you can eat as much choclate as you want and still maintane the tiny body then sorry girls its going to have to be hitting the gym. The models we see on runways just look like skeletons and these plus size models really gave them a run for there money and i really wish more designers would use Marks idea because girls especially young teenage girls wont feel the need to look like skeletons! So just remember, big girls you are beautiful!
