90's fashion back for 2010.

I bring you the 7 big hits that will be making a comeback this summer 2010, dont say i did'nt warn you!
Kitten heels,
After several seasons of platforms killing our feet the kitten heels out making a come back, the heel that is beloved of politician's wives has returned.Yes it isnt the most flattering shape but the kitten heel has been given a make over, as seen at Missoni with hippy ribbons and straps meanwhile Marc Jacobs added feathers for his version of the kitten heels. Im not a big lover off kitten heels, as i just dont like any heels full stop, there the worst invenstion made, they look good but can i walk in them? No! But do think with the right outfit kitten heels could be hot this summer!
Cycling shorts,
Yes, i was shocked too. It's partly the new sporty vibe. Set to be next summer's answer to leggings, the lycra knee-length short seen on the most unlikely catwalks, from the short disco versions that were flashing out from Armani's cocktail dresses to baggier versions at Marni worn loose over stripy leggings, as with leggings, they're not meant to be worn alone. When you see how short and sheer everything is for next summer you'll be begging for a pair. I think this is a trend i deffinately will be following, i think this could reallly be a good look for summer, so get ready to whap the legs out girls!
Safety pins,
Back in 1994 Elizabeth Hurley wore a black Versace dress seemingly held together by gold safety pins and created alot of attention for herself. Fast-forward 15 years, and there you have it the return of the safety pins. The Versace diffusion line now headed up by Scottish super-designer Christopher Kane (fashion god) has gone safety-pin crazy. Oversized, colourful pins bags and shoes while others, fastened across sexy cut-outs on dresses or used on jackets. Now im stuck on the idea of this, because i've seen the Elizabeth hurley safety pin dress and im not a big lover, there was nothing left to the imagination and it looked very cheap and tacky looking, so this could easily turn any outfit into a disaster! But then again, safety pins on the collar of a biker jacket, or on a old bag could easily could transform it from drab to fab, i think this will be on i experiment with!
Bum bags,
Yes, you heard me right bum-bags they strike fear into my heart too. But at Marc Jacobs, models walked down the catwalk wearing bum bags matched to their skirts and shorts. Worn slung low around the hips. Over at Louis Vuitton, also designed by Jacobs, the bum bag complete with tassels and extra pouches or with a fur tail were oversized very different to the original bum bags. Bum bags are deffinately a style i will be leaving in the past, r.i.p bum bags they should be gone and forgotten!
Neon,
From tie-dyed dresses to eye-popping fluoro bangles, neon was the alternative to the pretty pastels. Balenciaga's bright orange, green or yellow leather biker leggings really popped, it's very nu'rave! Neon colours really arent my thing, i dont like the tacky neon tops from primark you get, personally i think neon should be kept for the jewerally, i love neon lightening bolt necklaces ect but clothes, i just think you shouldnt draw attention to yourself in them!
Layers,
With next season's sheer, floaty fabrics, we're being encouraged to layer up. Put a long-sleeved T-shirt under a summer dress and add tights and boots and thats the biggest look this summer! I carnt wait to try this look out, very rock chick!
The rave whistle
These are set to make a comeback, who'd have thought it referees setting the latest trends? Not me thats for sure! But yes you heard me right rave whistles are set to make a very loud comeback! The very thought of walking round town to some little 13 year olds blowing there whistle 24/7 scares me, but maybe they could be the latest thing to carry around? Who knows, i just know i will not be starting this trend! Now go on blow your whistle!

Choclate catwalk.

Now this is my kind of catwalk, choclate choclate choclate! Yes you heard right the geniuses in paris decided to hold a choclate catwalk, and oh no no no your wrong in thinking that there were just chocolate buttons, oh no there was hats, jackets and even crinoline skirts! This really is something you could get your teeth into! The model pictured to the right of the text is Laetitia Rey, who wore a chocolate-studded ensemble by lingerie designer Eva Racheline and chocolate manufacturer Magnum, she looked a treat that had been unwrapped for the occasion thanks to the added touch of the silver foil. In a corset, suspenders and crinoline skirt, a chocolate disc balanced atop her head completed the look, if you look closely enough you can see that her suspenders are made out of magnum ice cream sticks, very unique indeed! Obviously not all the clothes were made out of choclate as that would have been very sickly! And if theres any left over choclate thats going spare then i'll be happy to take it off there hands, preferably dairy milk choclate, not dark! Thanks.

Vogue.

The almighty fashion bible vogue, its a huge hit all over the world, everyone loves it and everybody reads it but the pictures right featured in this months French Vogue have caused a big stir as it has been accused of being racist. Model Lara stone posed for a number of photos in which she was covered in white and brown body paint for a number of pose's this has caused a huge controvisy and the pictures have been marked 'tactless'! Personally i believe she shouldnt have been covered in the paint full stop! They should be showing that you can feel comfortable in your own skin and be glad of who you are not that you need to change! And to be honest the pictures featured top of the page are doing nothing for her. Lara stone is a really naturally beautiful women and i just dont think these pictures capture that! And plus i bet it took ages to get all that paint off!
